  • Increased audiences mean increased opportunities for acquiring more business and funding for non-profit organizations
  • You can monetize your live streaming event by requiring a viewer to pay a fee to watch the stream
  • Conversations via instant message or social media while the video is being streamed can provide you with valuable feedback without interfering with the event.
  • You can require registration, where potential viewers must provide an email address to watch the stream. Once they complete the registration form, they will receive a confirmation email with a web link. All of the email registrations will be recorded in a database, so that you can reach out to interested viewers about future webcasts.
  • The live streaming platform can provide a report telling you how many people viewed your event and when or where they viewed it.
  • The quality of live streaming has improved significantly over the past few years. The webcast can now be viewed on desktop, mobile and smart TVs.
  • You can stream online pre-recorded content - this can include introductions or any other media that can be used to cover any dead air.

Questions about the Event and the Venue

Because customers have different requirements and hold their events in various venues, I need to know more details about the event and the venue that is hosting the event. Before I provide you with a quote, I generally ask the following questions:

Questions related to the event

  • What type of event is it?
  • How many cameras do you need?
  • Do you need operators for each camera?
  • Extremely important: if using multiple cameras, do you want all cameras to be switched live or just have the cameras record independently and the video edited later?
  • Will you have audience questions?
  • How many speakers will you have? Will they be speaking together as a panel or one at a time?
  • Will the speakers be using PowerPoint presentations?

Questions related to the venue

  • Does the venue have a dedicated hard-wired Ethernet connection with 10 Mbps (megabits per second) upload speed? Wi-Fi is not reliable and not a recommended choice. The venue's IT person should have the answer to this.
  • Does the venue have sufficient lighting?
  • Does the venue have its own PA system and can provide me with an audio feed to my equipment?
  • How big is the room? Can you email me a photo of the room?
  • Do you need me to provide my own audio equipment?
