Last month, I filmed a unique and interesting piano concert in Central Park. The pianist, Murray Hidary, played on a digital grand piano that was amplified through the use of headphones. All audience members were given pairs of headphones, so they could hear what was coming out of the piano.
This series of concerts is called MindTravel, an immersive musical experience that takes place in iconic theaters and beautiful outdoor spaces including Central Park. Gorgeous and provocative real-time piano compositions are performed, spontaneously improvised, and infused with wisdom traditions, theoretical physics, and the power of communal elevation.
The experience was conceived and created by Mr. Hidary, a multi-disciplinary artist and tech pioneer. His purpose-driven approach is at the heart of his business successes, acclaim as a visual artist, and global recognition as a musician. Ever pushing boundaries and guided by a strong desire to help people find their purpose, Mr. Hidary is now focused on taking MindTravel across the globe while also crafting his next project, "No Dream Left Behind."
Save the date for his next New York City concert on Sunday, September 24th.
