Videographer and Video Editor in New York City
I use Panasonic DVX200 4K cameras with 13x zoom lenses. These lenses let me get close to the action and capture wide, medium and close-up shots, which matters because in many situations I am not allowed to film from the front row. This is what makes the big difference when filming long concerts. These cameras also have a servo (powered) zoom control, which allows me to do gentle, slow or faster zooms without manually turning the lens by hand. This makes the videography look very professional, not amateurish. They also do not overheat and offer unlimited recording time, as long as there are enough memory cards and battery/AC power, which is never a problem.
Upon receipt of payment, you will receive all the footage as 4K MOV files via an Apple iCloud download link. If you want the original native camera files instead, bring a hard drive to my residence and I will copy the footage directly to it.
Yes. Typically I operate the first camera myself, creating an artistic interpretation of your performance by panning and zooming. The additional cameras can be static, or I can use operators for each camera, depending on your budget.
I provide a free consultation by email, phone, or in person to discuss your project requirements and budget. Videography packages start at $595 for two 4K cameras.
No. Editing and DVD/Blu-ray authoring are not included in my filming fee. Please see the Editing and DVD/Ultra HD Blu-ray pages.
It depends on where the concert takes place. If the venue has professional audio equipment, an audio feed to my camera is always preferred. If not, I provide my own two-track recording using two external microphones placed close to the stage. Multitrack recording is also possible.
It depends on the complexity of the project and can range from a few days for a simple editing job to many months for a multi-camera, multi-day recording.
I store your raw footage for a period of ninety (90) days after it has been delivered to you. Please be sure to download the footage promptly and maintain at least one backup copy for your own records. Depending on your project, you will have received either:
If you lose your hard drive or no longer have access to your footage, you are welcome to bring a hard drive to my studio. I will gladly copy your files again at no charge, provided the request is made within the 90-day file retention period.
Requests made after the 90-day retention period require retrieval from archival storage. If I still have your files available, a $50 archival retrieval fee will apply to locate the correct archive, retrieve the files, and provide them to you again.
If you choose to ship me a hard drive, you are responsible for all shipping costs to and from my studio. Alternatively, you may pick up your hard drive from my studio once the files have been copied.
I use DaVinci Resolve.
If I filmed your concert, my fee includes all the editing necessary to complete the final master, with all camera angles. My basic package includes one pre-designed root menu with a background image of your choice and a Play button, with chapter points every ten minutes.
Yes. I can upload portions of your concert, or the entire concert, mastered in 4K Ultra HD for the best possible quality online.
Yes, I film dance shows, live theater, documentaries, interviews and corporate events.
No, but I would be happy to refer you to a wedding videographer whom I recommend.
As a Juilliard graduate, I have specialized for the past 25+ years in recording musical performances and have applied my musical knowledge to the art of video production. Having a musical background and carefully studying the music before the concert ensures I understand what is important to capture. When possible, I attend a rehearsal.
